What We Do

Since 2012, we have led an effort to promote and preserve the wonderful trail systems in the North Arkansas Ozarks. Offering family-friendly outdoor events , maintaining trail and donating to local & regional non-profits.

Our Mission

Provide fun, safe, and adventurous outdoor events that promote fellowship and the preservation of trails, natural landscapes and healthy lifestyles.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Big Bluff Challenge- Our first event managed led to over 5K in funds generated for the North Central Arkansas Master Naturalists. There efforts are vital in the maintenance of 50+ miles of local trails. The event had 6 great years and we look to reintroduce the 5K/10K, held at Bull Shoals State Park, in 2023.

  • Ozark Highlands 35K & 50K Trail Run- An annual favorite held at Norfork River Resort. This event was created to showcase the Sylamore Section of the OHT and invigorated a maintenance effort that now ensures at least 14 miles of this trail is cleared every year prior to the race.

  • Bad Jack’s Trail Fest- New in 2021, this event re-introduced a Mountain Bike event to the Syllamo MTB trail system. This event will ensure the annual maintenance of 26 miles of trail (Bad Branch & Jack’s Branch). The event also introduced the first ever bouldering contest at Blanchard Springs Recreation Area

  • Partnered with the non-profit, Ozark Highlands Trail Association, as a Tool Depot. Along with tools supplied by the OHTA, Syllamo Events has also purchased power tools that can be borrowed by local trail stewards.

  • Spirit of Syllamo- Arkansas’ next great 100 Mile Endurance Run will cover 70 miles on the Syllamo, Sylamore and Ozark Highlands Trails. With proceeds from this event, and the others, we’re working towards hiring a part-time Trail Steward that can work on the trails throughout the year.
